I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Advanced Somatic Experiencing student, committed to gently helping people understand their emotions, regulate their nervous systems, and stop living in constant avoidance or survival mode. I offer Somatic Coaching sessions for clients who want to make peace with their bodies and their past, so that they can feel more grounded in the present moment. I believe healing happens in safe relationships, and together we will build a connection that allows you and your body to be present.

I believe that everything about you makes sense, and that you deserve to live a life free from shame, pressure, or overwhelm. Somatic Coaching is a great fit for those who have already done a lot of therapy and are looking for something deeper, or for those who struggle to find the words to express themselves and their experiences. Outside of sessions, I like playing with my dog, playing soccer, and spending time with family and friends.

Monica Najarro, LPC

"I have seen the benefits of integrating somatic practices and techniques into talk therapy, not only in my work with clients, but within myself as well. Through this work, I feel more aligned and comfortable in both my body and mind, and more connected to myself as a whole being. That deeper sense of connection has made this work feel even more purposeful and has strengthened my passion for helping others experience the same healing and integration."

Kira Damewood, LPC

“Doing my own EMDR therapy changed the way I view and engage with myself and my personal relationships. It was so personally impactful that I wanted to help others experience this shift in their own lives through EMDR. It has become a key area in my work in helping others let go of patterns that are no longer serving them.”

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) specializing in complex trauma and trained in EMDR. I offer EMDR intensives for clients who are seeking focused, accelerated healing in a supportive environment. I believe that healing begins with safety, and my approach is relational, collaborative, and always guided by your pace and your nervous system. Together, we’ll work to understand how your past experiences shape your present, creating space for exploration, compassion, and healing.

I hold the belief that all behaviors make sense within the context of your story and lived experience, and that lasting change begins with truly seeing yourself. Outside of the therapy room, I’m a proud cat mom to two feline companions and deeply value connection, presence, and curiosity—both in life and in healing. Whether you’re just beginning your journey or continuing it, I’m honored to walk alongside you.

"I have personally experienced the value of somatic work and doing my own healing has strengthened my relationship with my body. Helping folks heal is such a passion of mine and I’ve been amazed at what can happen when we invite the body into the conversation. "

I’m a seasoned Licensed Psychologist with extensive training in Emotion-Focused Therapy for Couples, Somatic Experiencing, and Mindfulness. My approach is highly collaborative, and I believe that my expertise combined with your growing awareness of yourself, your patterns, and your wounds creates the foundation for safe, happy, and healthy relationships.

I know that relational healing goes beyond communication skills, cognitive interventions, and worksheets. That’s why my work focuses on deep, healing-oriented processes that help you foster a stronger connection with yourself and with the important people in your life.

I’m also the co-owner of Empowered Healing Dallas, a group therapy practice in Texas. When I’m not working with clients, you’ll probably find me puzzling, breaking into spontaneous dance parties, or hanging out with my rescue pup, Shiloh.

“Thank you so much for all of the wisdom this past year. Your thoughts have been a great companion to the work I’m doing in therapy.”

As a fellow therapist, one skill I learned in my courses with Danica and have taken with me throughout my own clinical work has been to value the importance of the therapeutic relationship when it comes to trauma healing.

Community

I have taken many courses with Danica on a variety of topics! That said, some things that remain consistent throughout all her courses would be her passionate and empathetic presence. Regardless of what the topic is, Danica’s zeal for mental well-being and trauma healing remain.

Community

I’ll never forget her words—as therapists, we are vigorously intervening on our client’s side, even when they aren’t on their own side. I also learned that the only way we can really do that is to make sure we have already laid the foundation of safety and containment within the therapeutic relationship. I have carried this skill with me for every single one of my clients, and I can’t imagine doing therapy any other way.

Community

I have loved and gained so much knowledge from all the courses I have taken with Danica, and eagerly await future ones!

Community

I've learned that my body makes sense, and I make sense.

Community

I am more aware of my body than I have ever been, and that's helped me heal in ways I didn't know were possible.

Community

Somatic work has helped me to meet myself with curiosity rather than judgment.

Community

Danica helped me understand the value of being gentle with myself, and that has changed my relationship with my body.
